Kenila B&B

Kenila B&B, Orkney

Today we left Mainland Orkney on the ferry.  Kenila was such a nice place to stay and Sheila is a wonderful Bean an Tí.

We had our first rain of the trip today – at least we were planning on a long drive.  We did stop shortly to look at a great castle named Dunrobin.  It’s the estate of the Sutherlands and has beautiful gardens and big amazing grounds.  We just did a quick pass through and then we were back on the road.

We spent the night at an old farmhouse called Newmill Farm a couple of miles out of Bankfoot.  We arrived about 6 PM.  Then we went into Bankfoot and ate at the Hotel.  The B&B building was great, it looks like a Colonial Era (U.S.) building.  The food and staff were amazing.  We woke up the next morning well rested and ready to see some sites en route to Edinburgh.
